2021 Miss Franklin/Southampton County Fair
Pageant Rules and Regulations
Contestant must be single, never married, without children, and never having been pregnant.
Contestant must be between the ages of 17 and 23 on the day of pageant.
Contestant must be female who has always been female.
Contestant must possess good moral character having never been convicted of any crime or have criminal charges pending against her. In addition, she must never have committed an act or engaged in any activity which is or could be characterized as dishonest, immoral, indecent, or in bad taste, either in person or on any form of social media.
Contestant and all accompanying members or guests will conduct themselves in a proper “lady-like” manner at ALL times. Any display of uncooperative or unsportsmanlike conduct will result in disqualification of the contestant or title holder.
Contestant will compete in a private interview, personality wear, on stage question, and evening gown.
Must have lived in the City of Franklin, Southampton County or attend Franklin / Southampton Schools, for at least six (6) months prior to the pageant.

Application is to be Typed or Handwritten NEATLY and submitted with a non-refundable $40.00 application fee, 5x7 Black and White Head Shot photo and a copy of your birth certificate to the Pageant Director. The complete application is due on or before JUNE 8th.
Once crowned, the Queen’s presence is required during the four (4) days of the fair.
If crowned you are expected to give Franklin/Southampton County Fair 100%, with expectations of not doing another reigning pageant or already have a reigning title. (fun pageants are allowed)
Her presence is expected at the livestock shows and to award various ribbons when required.
She will also be expected to represent the Franklin/Southampton County Fair at the Virginia Association of Fairs Queen’s Pageant January 2022, as well as in parades and other functions associated with the Franklin/Southampton Fair Foundation, Inc.
Contestants are required to participate in fundraisers.
The Queen will receive the following:
Scholarship (at completion of her reign)

Selection of gifts from local area merchants

Contestant Requirements and Information 2021
PRIVATE INTERVIEW (30%) Interview date and time will be given at a later date. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your start time. Required dress for interview competition is business attire (dress or slacks). Judging will be based on personality, poise, speaking ability, and civic and community participation. Interviews will be 5 minutes in length.
OPENING NUMBER- The opening number will be a simple dance routine taught at rehearsals. The 2021 theme is The Roaring 20's. The dance routine song is from the "The Great Gatsby Soundtrack".
The opening number outfit is pageant t-shirt (we provide them), gold metallic shorts (amazon has them), and black canvas tennis shoes. After the opening number is completed, each contestant will proceed to the microphone to introduce herself, giving her name and contestant number.
PERSONALITY WEAR (30%) Your personality wear is modeled in a fast-paced modeling pattern which will be taught at rehearsals. Outfit should be from the roaring 20's era. Each contestant will proceed to microphone for a 25-30 second presentation on their platform or their community service or platform. Judging of this portion will be on appearance, poise, and personality.
EVENING GOWN (30%) Contestants will model their evening gown of choice in a specific modeling pattern taught at rehearsals. Judging of this portion will be on appearance, poise, and stage presence.
ON-STAGE QUESTION (10%) Each contestant will be asked an on-stage unrehearsed question.
FUNDRAISER- Must raise $100.00. The contestant who raised the most in the entire pageant (includes little Miss) will receive a tittle, crown, sash and be on the Queen's Court.
