RULES:

  • Only 1 item per lot number can be entered for judging by each exhibitor

  • Articles in this division must be the work of the exhibitor whose name appears on the entry tag and have been completed since last year’s fair on Aug 13, 2023.

  • Items will be accepted and displayed at the superintendent’s discretion

  • Artwork is a MAXIMUM size of  36 x 36 including frame, unless otherwise approved

  • Artwork and photography entries must be submitted on (attached to) cardstock/poster board/or other surface so it stand up on edge or be stapled for display

  • COPYRIGHT- All submitted artwork MUST BE ORIGINAL in concept, ideas and execution. NO artwork used from copyrighted, trademarked, etc. sources can be accepted for judging. This includes, but not limited to, “Fan Art” and drawings or paintings derived from photographed not originally belonging to submitting artist

  • Baked Goods- No commercial mixes unless altered. Please use disposable plates for entries. Fair is not responsible for returning plates. Please include recipe used with each entry. Decorated items will be judged on decorations only.  No refrigeration available. Only ½ cake or pie has to be entered.

  • Sewing- Excellence is technique is determined in part by neatness, hems, darts, facings, fasteners, etc. Article must be clean and neatly pressed. No items will be judged that are incomplete.

  • Canning- Jar constitutes one entry. Canned foods must be in STANDARD GLASS CANNING JARS WITH RING.  Jars will not be opened, yet judged on appearance, color, texture.

  • PROFESSIONAL CLASS- Refers to anyone who is paid to teach said skill, perform a skill, or sells products that they make.

  • “Any other” or “Any not listed” are that same as “Any other not listed”

  • Awards and entries must be picked up SUNDAY immediately following the fair between the hours of 11am-2pm. THE FAIR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE for any item not picked up at this time. Remaining items will be taken to the extension office in Courtland if you are unable to pick items up during designated time. 

  • The option is reserved to withhold ribbons and awards in lots where there is no deserving entry.

NO ITEMS ARE TO BE REMOVED FROM HOME ARTS BUILDING PRIOR TO CLOSING OF FAIR SATURDAY EVENING UNLESS approved by superintendent.
